Our story starts with the purchase of farmland in the Southern Fleurieu peninsula in the shadow of Willunga Hill in the 1980's. Being a moderately cool climate and set at 300 meters above sea level, areas of the property were established with stone fruit orchards and planted to both Shiraz and Pinot Gris vines in the early 1990's. Trevor and Linda Desmond still own and operate both the vineyard and orchards to this day and have a successful farm-gate cherry business in addition to their small wine label. Visitors to the cellar door are often able to sample produce from the orchards in addition to our hand crafted wines.

Cool climate vineyards
We grow cool climate Pinot Gris grapes at our estate vineyard in Pages Flat, from which we produce both our still white wine and sparkling wines. We also produce our fortified cherry liqueur and cherry moscato sparkling wine from cherries grown in our orchard on the property. Small parcels of red grapes are sourced from local vineyards around McLaren Vale and the Southern Fleurieu to produce our range of dry red wine styles. We are committed to minimal input farming and disease control within our vineyard, and strive to continuously improve the soil heath and biodiversity on our property with each season.
Small batch winemaking
Winemaking is undertaken each vintage by managing small volume open fermenters for each of our red wines - we believe this helps us achieve good colour and tannin extraction and enables us to carefully manage ferment speed and temperature. A mixture of natural yeast and inoculated ferments are used to produce our red wines. Our white wine fermentation is managed in closed stainless steel vessels and at low temperatures to maintain floral and fruit aromatics. Minimal sulphur dioxide is added during the winemaking process to prevent spoilage. Our wines are gluten and vegan friendly.
